Definitions
- ARF
- Almost Ready to Fly, the model is built and covered but requires engine and radio installation.
- CAD
- Computer Aided Design.
- Giant Scale
- Mono planes that have at last an 80" wing span and biplanes that have at least 60" span can fly at IMAA (International Miniature Aircraft Association) sanctioned events.
- Plans
- The Blue Print the modeler uses during construction.
- Radio
- Electronics required to fly a radio controlled model
- Receiver
- Receives a signal from the transmitter, and directs the movements of the servos.
- Scratch Built
- Building without a kit, the modeler buys and cuts the required wood parts.
- Servo
- Electronic gear box, wired to the receiver that makes parts of the airplane move. The movement is proportional to the movement of a stick or switch on the transmitter.
