Definitions

ARF
Almost Ready to Fly, the model is built and covered but requires engine and radio installation.
CAD
Computer Aided Design.
Giant Scale
Mono planes that have at last an 80" wing span and biplanes that have at least 60" span can fly at IMAA (International Miniature Aircraft Association) sanctioned events.
Plans
The Blue Print the modeler uses during construction.
Radio
Electronics required to fly a radio controlled model
Receiver
Receives a signal from the transmitter, and directs the movements of the servos.
Scratch Built
Building without a kit, the modeler buys and cuts the required wood parts.
Servo
Electronic gear box, wired to the receiver that makes parts of the airplane move. The movement is proportional to the movement of a stick or switch on the transmitter.
